The NCI Metathesaurus is a derivative work of the UMLS Metathesaurus.  In order for 
the NCI to comply with the National Library of Medicine's licensing requirements 
for distribution of derivatives of the UMLS Metathesaurus, effective immediately 
downloading the NCI Metathesaurus RRF file distribution will require that users 
submit their UMLS license for validation.  Currently this cannot be done through 
this anonymous FTP site.  Users need to download from the web page at 
http://ncicb.nci.nih.gov/download/ so proper validation can be performed.  Please 
see the NLM's UMLS home page for information on UMLS licensing and registration, 
at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/research/umls/.
