The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Enterprise Vocabulary Services (EVS) and ICDC have collaborated in this effort and EVS will house and maintain terminology to support the efforts of ICDC. This data supports research into the feasibility of pet dogs with spontaneous cancers as models of human disease to evaluate new drugs, immunotherapeutic agents and treatments for further development for human cancer patients.
There are two sets of files available for download; the Data Model Terminology and the ICDC Breeds Terminology. The ICDC Data Model Terminology contains terminology representing the data categories and values are collected by ICDC and other sources that submit their data into ICDC. The ICDC Breeds terminology contains terminology representing breeds of interest divided into the American Kennel Club (AKC), Foundation Stock Service (FSS), Miscellaneous (MISC) and Mixed Breed. These files are available for download from the NCI EVS ftp site (https://evs.nci.nih.gov/ftp1/ICDC/) in two formats, an excel spreadsheet and a text file. A Changes.txt file is published monthly and contains all changes that have been made to ICDC Terminology files in the current production version of the NCIt when compared to the most recently posted previous file. A letter precedes the data that has changed from the previous version; "A" precedes a New Term for that subset, "C" precedes any modification to a concept, "D" precedes a term that has been deleted.
