The Multi-Regional Clinical Trials Center of Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard (MRCT Center), 

in collaboration with CDISC, have built a Clinical Research Glossary containing plain language definitions 

and other semantic artifacts for concepts commonly used in clinical research.The terminology in this spreadsheet 

represents a subset of the the MRCT Center Clinical Research Glossary and is intended for the general public to 

learn more about clinical research. Researchers, patients, trial participants, caregiver, and patient advocates

can use this glossary to help to enhance health literacy and support the creation of empowering participant-facing 

research communications. NCI EVS maintains and distributes the MRCT Center Clinical Research Glossary as part of NCIt.
